Pricing is one of the most important considerations. Trying a new game out on a rental basis can cost less than a tenth of what you would pay to buy the game outright. Since even games of the same genre can have subtle but important differences and sequels do not always live up to the reputation of the original game, it makes sense to be able to play the game before making that high priced purchase.
For a greatly lower cost you can experiement with new types and styles of games for your PS3 or Wii when you are renting the game rather than buying it and hoping for the best. A game like Grand Theft Auto may seem exciting to watch being played but by renting it first you can see quickly if the quests actually interest you or if you would rather just drive in a NASCAR race! By renting the two games and playing them together, you will get a better feel for what really turns your game gear on.
For those who are gaming guru’s, renting new games may be all you need. If you are able to finish the game in a one or two day rental you may not want to do it again so all you have to do is take it back and get a new game to play next.
